A large student population supports a good range of inexpensive eateries in Cambridge, England, but visitors do need to know where to look. Cambridge is not only home to a world famous University, it is also a very popular visitor destination, so it is also possible to be ripped off by unscrupulous restaurants charging high prices for average quality food! These tips will help visitors to Cambridge on a budget.

The Eraina Greek Taverna

Centrally located, but tucked away on a side street, the Eraina has offered almost the same menu for decades, and for good reason. The dishes are excellent value and good, and the atmosphere and service are also to be commended. The choice is very wide, including classic Greek dishes, Italian, steaks and a good value lunch menu.

The Wrestlers Arms Pub Serving Thai Food

The Wrestlers Arms Pub is a half hour walk from the town centre, located on an unpromising looking road among commercial buildings. However, the Thai food within is freshly prepared and excellent. Served simply with rice in large bowls, the portions are generous. This is a genuine British pub, comfortable and friendly, but the décor won’t have been created by an interior designer.
