The Manchester branch of the City Inn Best Business Hotel chain opened in May 2007 and brings stylish and contemporary accommodation to Manchester's city centre.

The City Inn chain of hotels was the winner of the Best Business Hotel Brand in the 2007 Business Travel World Awards, an award they also won in 2006. There are already City Inn hotels in London's Westminster, in Birmingham, Glasgow and Bristol. In May 2007 the City Inn Manchester opened, adding 285 new stylish guestrooms to the Manchester hotel scene.

Manchester is now Britain's third most popular city with overseas visitors, after London and Edinburgh. There are already several top class Manchester hotels, such as the Radisson Edwardian in the historic setting of the former Free Trade Hall building, and the stunning sky scraping Hilton, visible all over the city. The City Inn Manchester, at One Piccadilly Place, is a two-minute stroll from Manchester Piccadilly train station and close to Chinatown, Manchester's Gay Village and all the attractions of the city centre.

City Inn Manchester: Rooms

The City Inn Manchester has 285 guest rooms, including 7 City Suites, 25 superior City Club rooms and the skyline duplex Auburn suite. All rooms, even regular guest rooms, come equipped with the latest iMac computer. This provides free high-speed internet access, and there is also a free wifi internet connection throughout the hotel. The iMac also acts as a high-definition TV, with dozens of TV channels available, as well as radio stations. The City Inn also has a CD and DVD library of music and movies, for the use of guests. The hotel provides 24-hour room service, and offers regular guests a frequent stayers bag, allowing them to leave things at the hotel till the next visit.

All of the City Inn Manchester's rooms have been designed with both the business traveler and leisure traveler in mind. There are floor-to-ceiling windows providing lots of light, and these can be opened for guests who prefer fresh air to air conditioning. All bathrooms have a walk-in power shower, non-mist mirrors, toiletries and the kind of luxury cotton bathrobe that many hotels only provide in superior suites. Rooms also have iron, ironing board and hair dryer, a minibar and a laptop-sized safe.

City Inn Manchester: Other Facilities

Other facilities at the City Inn Manchester include 12 state-of-the-art business meeting and event spaces, including the Sky Lounge for private meetings and dinner parties with views over the Manchester skyline. The Piccadilly Lounge cocktail bar is already a popular meeting spot for Mancunians and packed most evenings, and the City Café restaurant provides a huge breakfast buffet, a full English breakfast menu and a la carte dining in the evenings.
