Eastbourne offers a huge selection of accommodation to suit every taste. Choose from some of the finest hotels in the country, to charming guest houses and flatlets.

Eastbourne in Sussex has some of the finest hotels in the country and the mostly Victorian hotels that face the sea. are what sets Eastbourne apart from other south coast resorts. Much of Eastbourne belongs to the Duke of Devonshire who retains certain rights, and who does not permit development of shops or restaurants along the seafront. This helps to preserve the seafront in its gracious Victorian style and gives this lovely old town, a very special air of gentility.

Everything from 5-star to budget, self-catering to flats and flatlets, can be found in Eastbourne. The choice is enormous, and the following are just a few of the hotels available throughout the year.

The Lansdowne, a Best Western Hotel

This is a very popular, privately owned hotel, in the same family since 1912. It is a traditional seafront hotel overlooking the Western Lawns and the Wish Tower and theatres and shops are mere minutes away. Menus change daily with a good choice of a la carte dishes and a bar/lounge menu is served at lunchtime. On Sundays a traditional lunch is served in the restaurant. The lounges are exceptionally elegant and all face the sea - an ideal place to relax with the morning newspapers after breakfast.

The Big Sleep Hotel

In stark contrast to The Landsdowne, The Big Sleep, also on the seafront, is a 50 bedroom designer budget hotel (the two are not incompatible), offering fantastic value for money, great sea views and exciting interior design. This is a Sleek, stylish hotel, beautifully located for holidaymakers and business trips and with rooms to suit everyone's budget. Despite being a budget hotel, all bedrooms have flat screen TV's and wireless internet access. Quirky but with high standards of comfort.
