Harrods Offers a One of a Kind Shopping Adventure

Unlike any other shopping experience, Harrods is a unique establishment where you will enjoy finding and purchasing the unexpected.

So you’ve shopped ‘til you’ve dropped at South Coast Plaza in California, Bloomingdales and Macy’s in New York but until you’ve shopped at Harrods in London, the ultimate shopaholic's experience has not yet been had. Seven sprawling floors, each one offering items more unique than the last. Clothes, shoes, bedding, but of course…pianos, pets and a princess’s memorial, absolutely. The food courts alone are worthy of a visit and could possibly take up most of your time. Don’t forget about the kids in your life because Harrods definitely didn’t forget about them. There’s something for everyone at Harrods.

Bon Appetite in the Food Courts

Upon entering Harrods, pick up a store guide because this mega market can be difficult to navigate. Also, don’t hesitate to ask directions. It could be days before finding that elusive bathroom.

Go straight to the food courts. Feast your eyes on room after room and counter after counter of luscious foods from exotic meats and caviar to handmade fudge and gelato sundaes. Each large court follows a theme and food can be purchased to eat at the counter or wrapped to take home. The food court floor contains a charcuterie, fromagerie, bakery, patisserie, candy shop and confectionary just to name a few. These food courts don’t even include the restaurants, cafes, pub, champagne and tapas bars that are located throughout the store. It is a sight to see and is guaranteed to make any shopper ravenous.

Designer Labels and More

Dior, Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli, Armani, D & G, every woman’s dream dress department? No, this is the children’s clothing department at Harrods. Susie will be the best dressed child, or adult for that matter, on the first day of school. Don’t miss the toy department either which appears to have every toy known to man available for purchase. A woman was over heard saying, “Do you see anything you like, Niles?” Is that a trick question? What’s not to like, it’s all here. Even if an adorable little puppy or kitten were Niles heart’s desire, Mom could have gotten one on the same the same floor in the Pet Kingdom.

Take the Egyptian escalators down to the lower ground floor and find a display quite unique to any department store. A memorial has been created in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Al Fayed. Read about the Al Fayed charitable foundation established in their memories.

Plan to spend some time at Harrods. It’s not the type of establishment to run in and out of quickly. Whatever your shopping needs are it’s likely they will be satisfied at Harrods. A person never knows when he’ll be in the market for some bullet proof clothing but according to the shopping guide, Harrods can help check that item off of your shopping list.
