The stylish Vincent boutique hotel is one of the newest hotels in Southport, on Lord Street and with its own spa, gym, restaurant, bar, valet parking, and luxury rooms.

For a long time Southport was always thought of as one of the more sedate English seaside resorts, and it's still regarded as 'England's Classic Resort', although a notorious punch-up recently featuring Liverpool football star Steven Gerrard in a Southport bar might help change that image. Southport has always been known for its excellent shopping, particularly on the elegant Lord Street, and famous for its beach, pier, the Southport Flower Show, and for its golf courses. But this Merseyside holiday favourite can now boast hosts of fine dining restaurants, sophisticated nightclubs, and chic boutique hotels like the Vincent, which opened in June 2008.

Vincent Hotel in Southport: Bar and Dining

The Vincent has its own V-Lounge Bar, also popular with footballers and other sports stars and local celebrities, as well as the V-Café and Sushi Bar. The V-Café may sound informal, and it is indeed a very relaxed and low-key place, but it still serves up some of the finest food in Southport.

The V-Café has an all-day menu of small and large plates, including a very tasty and authentic Lancashire bacon butty, bangers and mash, sirloin steak, and fish and chips, with the chips served in an amusing and stylish miniature chip fryer. In addition there is a more gourmet lunch/dinner menu, with such dishes as hake with orange-scented lentils, or scallops with cauliflower couscous, while the dessert menu motto is 'Life is Uncertain, Eat Puddings'. The one to try if it's on the menu is the trio of crème brulées, which are not three miniature dishes but three different full-size crème brulées such as coffee, vanilla, and a mouth-watering passion fruit.

The Sushi Bar has a range of small and large Sushi and Sashimi platters, along with à la carte choices such as tuna, eel and flying fish roe, with a selection of Maki and Temaki too. There's an online V-Café sample menu to check out the latest dishes and prices.

Vincent Hotel in Southport: Spa and Gym

The V-Gym has a full range of workout and cardio equipment, weights, and a unique vibro plate, with guests able to book a personal fitness trainer if they wish. The V-Spa is an ESPA spa that offers several treatments including detox, energising and calming programmes, and there's an online spa treatment brochure available.
